A
lifelong interest in photography found its focus in wildlife for
Brent after he discovered diving. The wilderness of
the oceans, a world of diversity and drama still less
explored than space, inspired expeditions across the
planet in search of spectacles from body surfing penguins
in Antarctica, Great White acrobatics in South Australia,
the lost city of Alexandria in Egypt and the world’s
smallest seahorse in Papua New Guinea.
In
the ocean Brent learnt the
art of documenting wildlife in its habitat and pursued this
interest in recording the natural world in Africa, which has
since become a favourite haunt. Safaris in Botswana, Zimbabwe,
the Maasai Mara and across Tanzania and Zambia have resulted
in an extraordinary portfolio of both wildlife,
landscape and travel images,
as well as an intimate knowledge of the African wilderness
and close relationships with local operators. Brent’s
experience in the bush enables him to offer tailor-made
tours of an intimate Africa to a niche market of safari-lovers
and photographers.
Curiosity
and a love for a good story have taken Brent
diving off icebergs on the Antarctic Peninsula, “A wonderland
of wildlife and incredible landscapes,” he says,
on assignment across Australia’s Kimberley and
its deep south Great White territories as well as to
South America and Europe.
Brent’s work has appeared in nature, sport and diving
publications internationally, and received several
prestigious awards.
